Description:
Rigid-flex circuit boards combine flexible and rigid circuit board material. In complex housings, you can develop a rigid-flex solution instead of connecting several rigid circuit boards with cables. The PCB can be bent along the flexible areas during assembly, while the rigid part has the same layout possibilities as with FR4.
Rigid-flex printed circuit boards reduce the assembly and assembly costs, e.g. by saving on plug connections. Further advantages can be found in the following article.
