Flexible circuit boards are made of flexible plastic such as polyimide. Instead of connecting several rigid circuit boards with cables, you can design a flexible card to connect moving parts or in complex housings. This saves assembly and installation costs. In addition, thin polyimide material is used wherever light weight and small volume are important.
For dynamic bending such as spontaneous or frequent movements, we recommend base material with rolled copper. Electrolytically deposited copper has a lower elongation at break and is mainly suitable for stable bending such as one-off installation in the housing.
